80's STYLE WILL NEVER GO OUT OF FASHION Toyah Willcox was an eighties legend, dancing and prancing her way around London and popular culture throughout the seventies and eighties. Her songs might be forgotten, but her bright pink hair and lust for life are still going strong! With some brave fashion choices, Ms Willcox is a testimony to the decade ,which either love it or hate it made a big impact on how we view style today.
Today marks a rare opportunity, with some of her personal and promotional items from her vast career going on sale to raise funds for a Hospice which is close to Toyah's heart. A curated collection, including a John McIntyre cream striped coat she wore to the British Rock & Pop Awards 1985, along with a three-piece checked suit, which made an appearance on Pebble Mill in 1985. The red dress and jacket by designer Hilary Moore, that she wore whilst doing charity work with Prince Edward in 1988 and my personal fave- the Gay Ironmonger linen four-piece purple and floral suit - a Toyah ‘staple’ worn numerous times in the mid-80s The collection, comprising of 82 fashion pieces, 18 pairs of shoes and boots and 132 items of jewellery is available exclusively on Lovely’s Vintage Emporium, with prices ranging from £25 to £1200.
