Where better to spend the Saturday night of Fashion week than at the Sanctum Soho Hotel in the West End with our former cover star Sadie Clayton and her latest collection on display, what can we say, we love Sadie and her work. This season was no different, her signature style of mixing the wearable with a more couture feel has once again hit the high notes that has made her a designer that is now established as a must see of any fashion week.
Fashion can’t exist in a vacuum, it has to exist as a living breathing thing that is out on the streets and season after season Sadie delivers on this. While she’ll always be the Queen Of Copper, what she achieves is looks that you can see strolling down a road adding a touch of drama to any street or creating theatre in a square.
The bomber jackets mix with trousers, shirts, coats, dresses and create not just looks but a complete wardrobe for the season for any modern woman, dressed up or down this collection has you covered and the fabrics, oh the fabrics. So deep and detailed, while they have volume, this is not baggy, each has a structured shape that is theater in fabric, they’ll make sure you don’t just arrive, you’ll always make an entrance.
But as ever with Sadie, it’s not just the wow from afar, look closer and you’ll see the intricate patterns that run through the garments, the beautiful detailing adds an extra presence and texture to the pieces, and like the label, they are always worth a second look.
