The Saatchi Gallery opened its doors for a new exhibition exploring the works of thirteen experimental artists. We selected to showcase three of these for the human instinct of emotions and social documentary. Dale Lewis Producing large-scale paintings derived from situations he has directly observed; his works are epic yet understandable, brutal and compassionate. Referring to classical works in the structure and composition, they reference raw scenes of the urban environment of British culture. Daniel Crews-Chubb Depicting the human body in a contorted, devouring spirit of men and women. Referencing the expressionism of French painter Jean Dubuffet and the Art Brut style. Using strong references and influences to primitive art and ancient rituals, Chubb's works are hypnotic. Danny Fox
Realism and urban sleaze are some of the subjects captured in his works! Translating emotion feelings in situations of mundanity. Portraying a narrative in his naive style is riveting and arresting. Saatchi Gallery Iconoclasts: Art Out of the Mainstream 27th September 2017 - 7th January 2018
