While evoking the philosophy of a more simple layered look, the lines and shapes brought forward a more edgy yet wearable look for next spring. In the changeable climate of London emerging from the grey cold gloom of winter these will be looks that set the wearer apart.
There is a thought that functional can't be beautiful, but here is a range that disproves that thought in an instant. The blues, blacks and off-whites are used for a more subdued feel that still delivers an impact. Soft and overlapping, the movement and flow of the looks adds a life of their own, each movement of the layers, unique and individual creates a theatre at odds with the initial sense of the immovable
Phoebe English is one of the London fashion scenes true emerging talents, soft chic is such a hard concept to master, structure can move from gentle or pared back to unruly and unshapely so easily, it takes a designer in charge of her vision to produce a collection that captures the mollified sense of relaxation yet retain a sense of sharp. If I get the coats, I'll be the one in the city you see praying for rain to be able to wear it and wow in it.
