Art and fashion collide
Artist Johny Dar is a celebrity in his own right, so when he decided to ask his celeb friends for their old jeans, he got them by the van load! It wasn't just for personal pleasure , he is planning on using his creative talents in a ‘Jeans for Refugees’ campaign, which is an artistic fundraising initiative dedicated to helping refugees around the world, with all proceeds going to the International Rescue Committee. At last someone who is pro-actively doing something practical about raising money! He has gathered jeans from one hundred celebrities, and plans to turn them into a unique art pieces which will be exhibited for one week at the Saatchi Gallery at the end of October 2016. Following the exhibition each piece will be auctioned at a star studded fundraiser, with all proceeds raised donated to the IRC initiatives helping millions of refugees worldwide on a daily basis. Whether the bidders will wear the jeans or keep them as modern art is questionable! So if you want to take a look at the true size of Victoria Beckham's waist, Eva Herzigova's inside leg length or Danni Minogue's bum, pop along to the exhibition and soak up some art for a good cause.
