FEMINIST FASHION MIGHT BE A MOUTHFUL, BUT IT IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
The Fashion Debates are back with another interesting topic of discussion at the Conde Nast College to co-incide with Fashion Revolution Week. Pioneered by Fashion Debates Founder, Olivia Pinnock, the panel this month includes Tansy Hoskins, Journalist and Author of Stitched Up - The Anti-Capitalist Book of Fashion, Sophie Slater, Co-Founder of Birdsong London and Ayesha Mustafa, Founder of Fashion ComPassion. The event is sponsored by ethical jewellery enterprise, Free_D, which provides training and work for disadvantaged women in India, so the controversy arises when you consider if this is beneficial to the workforce, or whether it is accepting of women's lack of rights. Exploring the need for fair fashion and women's rights is a powerful and provoking topic, and one which will be sure to unite and inspire opinion whichever way you look at it. DATE: Thursday 27th April ADDRESS: Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, 16-17 Greek Street, London, W1D 4DR TIME: 7PM – 9PM TICKETS: http://www.thefashiondebates.com for £10. By Sara Darling

Fair Fashion is definitely a feminist movement. It promotes equality from all genders. It also helps others discover more things about the opposite gender's fashion sense. I'm personally happy that they made this decision for the fair. Not only does it promote a good cause, but it will attract a larger audience. Things are looking good for the fashion fair, and I'll be looking forward to attend it.
