The Belstaff presentation always draw a big crowd, and for AW16, the brand has collaborated with actress Liv Tyler for a capsule collection and the venue in the vaults of No 1 Marylebone was the perfect showcase. Four months pregnant Liv was present and her first twelve-piece collection consisted of winter wardrobe essentials, inspired by1920s piloting pioneer Amelia Earheart. A military overcoat rubbed shoulders with a shearling parka and a light weight leather jacket, and I definitely have one of the saddle bags on my wish list! With a short film to accompany the collection, she is embracing the brand in every aspect.

However the main Ready To Wear was as you might expect from a label which is in love with the Great Outdoors, full of leather, fur and layering. Stating that AW is inspired by Edith ‘Jackie’ Ronne, (an American journalist and historian who the first woman to go on an Arctic expedition), the clothes are perfect for an arctic climate. Consisting of padded biker jackets, fur trimmed parkas and my personal favourite of a super soft leather all in one aviator jumpsuit, it is great label for tomboys.
Making going out in the cold look sexy, the perfectly cast models helped. Autumn Winter is a winner yet again, and mixes up the traditional Belstaff heritage of exciting and glamorous motorsports, fused with more Siberian styling with the patchwork, wool and silk touches, softening the more sporty numbers, and providing every kind of cold weather customer an option for the winter months.
