Article : Ross Pollard Image Selection: Simon Armstrong Barrus the luxury womenswear label from Istanbul returned to LFW for Neslisah Yilmaz fourth collection. Back came the inspiration of Turkish antiquity that is twirled and spun into a modern vision that breathes new life into the classical ideas that they grow from. The main themes of the collection saw blacks and whites mixed with bright yet understated purples and blues that remind the onlooker of long summer days gazing out across the seas that lap the shores of Anatolia, each used in block colour with the detailing adding texture and intrigue to the looks. The statement dresses mixed with day wear focused pieces that are perfect for adding a touch of neoclassical glamour, faves of mine included the trousered looks that will add a more day to day edge to this collection of garments and as much as we’d all love flowing gowns to be day wear it’s not going to happen!
The light floating nature of the looks hint at the hot days and warm nights ahead, like promises sent out to remind a cold crowd that the sun drenched summer season is not far off. Barrus are fast building a reputation of warming even the most frozen hearts of the long line of people waiting for this show.
