London Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without an explosion of sequins, and Gupta Ashish is never too far to fulfil the need. How he does it season after season never ceases to amaze, and the clothes get more wearable with age! The collection for AW2016 was all about a girls night out. Big hair, bright nails and matching colours shimmied down the catwalk in the form of slip dresses, wide pants, pyjama suits and twinsets. You would need a pretty warm jacket to cover you up as the party dresses and cropped tops left little to the imagination in terms of coverage, but hey- it is the party season, and those sequins need to shine! Offering something in every colour of the rainbow in the collection took inspiration from a box of crayons, and in no particular order our senses were invaded by a spectrum of shades which would brighten up even the darkest of winter days. Showcasing everything from mini skirts to maxi dresses, to pretty bows and one shoulder ball gowns to waisted macs and 'gold digger’ and 'golden shower' logo-ed tops and dresses, it worked as a show as it was united by the flattering cuts and uniform beading. There is no doubt this is designed for a party girl, and I like to think I fit in to that category- can someone just make a note of that for my 12 days of Christmas wish list?!
