Today is United Nations International Day of the Girl Child which raises awareness of the 1.1 billion girls who face gender inequality on a daily basis.
Ldny is a social enterprise that aims to use the power of fashion to address social issues, such as gender inequality, poverty and social mobility.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Trust Fund, LDNY have enlisted the support of international designer Daniella Helayel, the talent behind Kate Middleton’s iconic engagement dress.
Daniella has created a classic new dress design that suits a cross section of women, regardless of size, age or body shape. It has been produced in varying shades of orange to match the official UN Trust Fund colour. This collaboration is called “Women United'. The campaign is a global initiative aimed at helping to end violence against women, which is the number one killer of women around the globe. The dresses are available to purchase today, with 50% of the proceeds going towards the UN Trust Fund. Link here: http://www.ldny.com/shop/
Last year Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman fronted the UN Trust Fund’s fashion initiative leading a whole host of British women who are coming together to support Women United - a global campaign aimed at helping end violence against women - the number one killer of women around the globe.
